A
Action: The amount of money bet in any game of roulette.

American Roulette: A version of roulette that uses a green 00 as well as a green 0. For more information, please see Online Roulette Games.

American Wheel: The roulette wheel used to play American Roulette. It has a 00 as well as a 0.

B
Backtrack: The outer rim of the roulette wheel.

Ball: The small white object placed on the wheel that determines the winning number.

Bankroll: The amount of money any player has to gamble during a game of online roulette.

Bet on the Layout: A bet placed on the numbered part of the table. Also known as an ‘Inside Bet’.

Black Bet: An outside bet on all 18 black numbers.

Bottom Track: The track on which the ball spins before it falls to the numbered slots.

Column Bet: An outside bet placed on one of the three columns covering 1-12, 13-24, or 25-36.

Combination Bet: One bet that covers multiple numbers, usually placed on the line between the numbers to be covered.

Corner Bet: An inside bet that covers four numbers at once, usually placed at the intersection of the four numbers to be covered.

Croupier: The person that oversees the game and operates the roulette wheel.

Double Zero Wheel: A wheel that features both a green 00 and a green 0. This is also known as an American Roulette Wheel.

Dozen Bet: A bet that covers one of three columns of twelve numbers (1-12, 13-24, 25-36). Also known as a ‘Column Bet’.

European Roulette: A version of roulette that uses only the green 0. Also known as just standard roulette. For more information see Online Roulette Games.

European Wheel: The roulette wheel used when playing European Roulette. It has only the green 0. Also known as a standard roulette wheel.

Even Money: A bet that pays 1:1. If you win, your bet is returned.

Even Bet: An outside bet that covers all 18 even numbers.

Five Number Bet: A bet available in American Roulette that is placed on five numbers (0, 00, 1, 2, 3) at the same time.

High Bet: An outside bet that covers 19-36.

House Edge: The advantage the casino has over the player, which generates the profit for the casino.

Inside Bet: A bet placed on any of the numbers on the inside of the table.

Low Bet: An outside bet that covers 1-18. Does not cover zero.

Odd Bet: An outside bet that covers all 18 odd numbers

Outside Bet: A bet on any of the following: black/red, high/low, and odd/even with an even money payout.

Payout: The amount of money a paid to the player for winning.

Pocket(s): The numbered slots on the roulette wheel.

Quarter Bet: A bet on four numbers. Also known as a ‘Corner Bet’ or ‘Square Bet’.

Red Bet: An outside bet that covers all red numbers.

Roulette Chips: The chips placed on the roulette table to represent the player’s wager.

Roulette Layout: Composed of a grid that outlines all of the different numbers and bets available in online roulette.

Roulette Table: The deep-sided table on which the game of roulette is played on.

Roulette Wheel: A spinning wheel with 37 (European Roulette) or 38 (American Roulette) numbered pockets on it, which is used to play the game.

Single Zero Wheel: A roulette wheel with only one green 0 pocket. Also known as a standard or ‘European Roulette Wheel’.

Six Number Bet: An inside bet that covers six numbers at once. Also known as a ‘Line Bet’.

Spin: A game of roulette, or the act of spinning the ball on the roulette wheel.

Split Bet: An inside bet that covers two numbers at once, usually placed on the line separating the numbers.

Straight Bet: A bet on a single number.

Street Bet: An inside bet that covers three numbers, usually placed at the end of a row.
